Title: Hard drive full!!
Post by: 2436 on June 10, 2009, 08:52:34 PM
hello, my name is Derek, and i'm having some problems with my hard drive(c).
It is full, and no matter what i delete it still shows it is full and i get the low disk space warning. i have restarted my computer, and it starts up with about 170mb of space, then within about 15 mins, dwindles down to 0. i have 3 user accounts on it, and i deleted one, but after a restart, it was back. also the programs i deleted with add/remove came back after i restarted my pc. some of the files i have tried to delete said it could not be deleted because it was corrupt and unreadable.
i thought it might be a bad sector on my disk. is that a possibility? i have tried to run Chkdsk, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

my disk capacity is 41.3gb

170MB is practically ZERO. Couple of temporary files created, and the space is gone.
Windows needs at least 15% of a free space - over 6GB in your case.
With so low free space, next thing, you know, your computer wont' boot at all.
