, how do I number my pages in a document in windows 98?

You are using Windows 98. Which word processor are you using? Page layout is a thing done best by a word processor program.

In Word 97 you set up page numbers in the header or footing of the document. In Notepad there is also an option for page layout that lets you have page numbers at the bottom when the document is printed.
