Title: Windows Blinds
Post by: Zylstra on July 15, 2006, 12:33:46 AM
Is Windows Blinds safe software?
Will it cause problems?
(I asked with Answers.Yahoo.com and got a lot of people telling me not to get it)
Are there any free downloads for the Windows XP themes?
Any GOOD trustable free software?

zylstra555.......  I have certainly heard of it , but have never felt the need to try it . I can see no reason it should cause problems ........ I did see something about some people having issues after a recent XP update ...but I seem to remember it was only happening on the XP 64 bit edition ......
It can always be removed ....... it's not as if your stuck with it .

(WindowBlinds is certified by Microsoft for use with Windows XP, Windows 2000*, Windows ME*, and Windows 98*).

* = Windows 2000, ME, 98 users use WindowBlinds classic based on WindowBlinds 4.x.

Just my humble opinion but every machine i've worked on that had it installed had issues...numerous issues.
But have fun.

I think they have worked hard to overcome some of the early stability issues.  Still can't see the point of it.  If I want lots of eye candy, I can just use a Linux KDE box.  When I'm on my PC I want to work on it with minimum distractions.  In most cases, particularly on slower machines, I turn off all the GUI frills.  Form over function.  Not a good way to go.

Ahh but Rob a Ugly GUI can make you Unhappy , Starring and no Frill's Gray on Gray Dialogue is unstimulating, and leads to a lack of you getting you Happy Endorphins

Basically I'm saying Looking a boring Gray all leads to Depression. especially if you hate what it looks like. i cant stand to look of blue XP , i always have silver

It A theory , no one smite me for posting nonsense

Once I open a document full screen to work on it the rest of the eye candy is meaningless and out of sight.
