Title: Internet Explorer/Firefox not working
Post by: rickrode on August 27, 2009, 10:37:18 PM
Hello everyone!

Good to be back here in the forum. I have to share an internet browser problem
of which it confused me a lot both my IE and FF is not detecting a connection at all
in fact I am pretty sure I had a great signal because I can sign-in all of my messengers (e.g. skype, yahoo, msn live). even no window coming out on my proxy server for authentication.

I do also a virus and spyware scan but no bugs being detected. Perhaps I read some
of the thread but nothing similar to this problem.

Is anyone have a heart and share a solution or ideas. by the way, I am using Win Vista home basic 32 bit.

worried much,

rickrode :(

hmm, strange problem. you could have some infected cookies or a virus your av hasn't found
if you have a flash drive you can transfer these to from the working computer to the problemed computer:
try running SUPERantispyware (http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html) & Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe)
and after the scans,

Download  HijackThis.exe (http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/_download/HJTInstall.exe) (HJT)

* Double-click on HJTInstall.
* Click on the Install button.
* It will automatically place HJT in C:\Program Files\TrendMicro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe.
* Upon install, HijackThis should open for you.

* From the desktop open HijackThis.
     * If using Windows Vista, Right-click and Run As Administrator.
* Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button
* HijackThis will scan and then a log will open in notepad.
    * Copy and Paste the entire contents of the log in your post.
