Title: Need Urgent Help Booting Up Computer -XP-
Post by: overrated on February 11, 2007, 06:36:01 PM
1. Computer starts up and after loading the XP logo, goes straight to a page listing
Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Network
Safe Mode with Command Prompt
Use Last Known Configuration
Start Windows Normally

I have tried all of them and every time a screen comes up saying that there is hardware or software that hasn't been installed properly. And I don't know what to do to fix it.   :'( HELP!

First of all, power down the computer in question and check all the connections to and from the hard drive. Tell me: Did you do anything to the computer that you did not do before? New software, deleted files, that kind of thing?

Hi, I need help booting up my computer.
I'm not a noob and I am fairly good at fixing problems on the computer when they occur, but this one has stumped me.

What happens is, when I start the computer up, it loads properly until the XP logo starts loading and then it switchs to a differant screen displaying starting options such as
Safe Mode
Start Windows Normally
Use Last Known Configuration
Safe Mode Command Promt

things like that. I have tried all of them but every time a blue screen message comes up saying that I have hardware or software that it not installed properly and I think this happened when my dad plugged in the printer. Can you help me?
