Title: new custom built
Post by: togranmaf on May 22, 2007, 07:46:02 PM
can i put a 800mhz front-side bus with hyper-thread technology,  in a motherboard (pcchips m963gv) that has a 478 socket p4 with 533hmz front-side bus  and hyper-thread technology?  can not find a 533hmz with hyper-thread technology. what would be the best choice? new to this and really want to build it myself, thanks for any help you can offer.

Please list what chip specifically you are trying to put into what sort of motherboard.
Guessing, a Pentium 4 HT (still need clock speed and socket)
and your listed PC chips motherboard.

Is your motherboard the same as the one in the link below?

Depending on the version of that motherboard, you may be limited to the CPU you currently have.

If that's the motherboard you plan to use, check their web site for compatible processors, unless you are a gambling man.  ;)
