Title: Device Drivers
Post by: sette488 on June 10, 2019, 10:39:02 PM

I found the following errors in my Device Manager

The hardware was not installed because the
wizard cannot find the necessary software.

? Other devices
? Ethernet Controller
? SM Bus Controller
? Video Controller
? Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

Can someone please tell me how I can go about
fixing these errors.  I'm using a desktop computer
with Windows XP.

Thanks

I'm guessing this is a new install? You need to go to the website of the computer manufacturer and download and install the chipset driver.

Like Allan said, the best course of action would be to visit your manufacturer's website and look for your device drivers there. However, there is a program called  that is 100% free and it works very well. It will automatically install all of your drivers, and even update old ones if needed. I'll put a link here:. I would download the Lite version, as you probably are not going to use this tool on other computers multiple times.

Hope it helps!

Please do NOT advertise any driver installer apps at CH...

They are all garbage.
