Title: how to check if video driver is enough for need for speed
Post by: shadav on December 07, 2008, 07:53:07 PM
I am having problems trying to play a new game. i bought "need for speed" "pro street" but when i try to start the game i get a black screen for 4 seconds then it shuts down and goes to my desktop.

it must be my video card. i tried the game on-line forum but they couldn't help.

Also I tried to update the  driver but the computer says there are no updates.

How can I check?

Thanks

More specifically:
Open it, click Computer, then Summary.
In upper menu, go Report>Quick Report-Summary
Save it in text file, and paste it in your next post.
Don't include anything under line Debug - PCI

unfortunately- your built-in Intel graphics don't meet the requirements.

On the bright side, you can easily find and purchase an appropriate card for your motherboard that will work with the game; couldn't say wether you would need an AGP or PCI-Express card at a glance, though.

Sorry to be the purveyor of bad news...

No problem

how do I find out if I need AGP or PCI-express card?

duh- sorry, it says it right in the log

(3 PCI, 1 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, LAN, IEEE-1394)

looks like 16-lane PCI-express.

these are fairly easy to find, their the main video interface used nowadays.
