Title: intermittent web page access problems

When i go to some websites I am unable to click on some links without getting a no webpage available error. Such as trying to get into my email. I can enter yahoo,but not the email. I can'tenter gmail, or cannotenter places to sign into sighte. seems to be no rhyme or reason as to what link will work or which one won't

Type of connection ?
What sites ?
What happened prior to this ?
What browser ?

i have windows xp, explorer 7, windows firewall, spyware doctor,avg free antivirus , high speed cable, several sights effected, cannot access my email, thogh I get into yahoo, cannot access gmail, also canot access my ebay account, able to see other pages n web, no problem prior to this

Try it with Windows firewall disabled...
If no joy joy travel to our Virus and Spyware section and follow the instructions at the top of the page for posting your logs...

Also, see, if same problem with Firefox.

not same problem with firefox. I just downloded it. also did try closing windows firewall ,but nothing changed. Also computer is working so much faster with firefox, than explorer. why is this?

Are you saying, that Firefox works without a problem?
As for IE...
Close IE.
Go Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools, and click on Internet Explorer (no add-ons). Same thing?

In IE, go Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab, click on "Reset" button.
Restart computer.

Uninstall IE7 through Add\Remove. It'll revert to IE6. See, if same problem occurs.

problem still occuring.  Could a trojan virus do this?
