You might get better results here. https://nissan.navigation.com/home/en_US/NissanNA/USD (https://nissan.navigation.com/home/en_US/NissanNA/USD)
FYI, when I went to update my Honda maps (Garmin) the official instructions said (still say) I could only use an 8gb flash drive. After trial and error, and luckily me having MULTIPLE flash drives laying around, I figured out that only a 32gb flash drive will work. So if you get an error or it won't work try another flash drive if you have one.
You might also look on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=2014+nissan+altima+navigation+system+update) for instruction videos. That's what prompted me to try a different flash drive.

You paid, for the update?

No my head unit came with free Garmin updates. I rarely use the default GPS/head unit though. I plug my phone in and use Android Auto. It's so much better because I can use Waze or Google Maps and split screen with my music player.
