Title: Windows 10: Incorrect Network Icon Fix
Post by: BC_Programmer on June 08, 2017, 05:01:31 PM
Not actually a  question but a solution I found to a problem I was experiencing, so I thought I'd share the solution I found.

I was finding that on my laptop system the network notification icon would often show the "Not connected" Ethernet Icon, even when the system was properly connected. This made it difficult for me to tell if I was actually connected or not. Some of the other  suggestions I found involved completely disabling/uninstalling all network devices, disabling other network devices (eg. the Ethernet port) and so on. I didn't want to take those steps- Why should I disable my ethernet adapter? Windows should be able to handle this itself!

Anyway, After some messing about I was able to fix it by restarting the "Network Location Awareness" Service.
