Title: help with finalizing dvd +rw

Using tiger 10.4 want to know if i can finalize dvd +rw in disk utility. my stand alone dvd player which says it can read this format needs the disks to be finalized, or otherwise i get the message 'no disk'. or is there a different way ie using dvd-r.
