I recently installed windows 2000 professional on an older computer, with a pentium processor. It originally was made for windows 95, but when i received it, it was upgraded to windows 98 second edition. During upgrading to windows 2000, there were a series of errors that occurred, however, apparently the set up was successful. Now when i try to reboot, it gets to the windows professional screen and freezes or shuts down on its own. I tried going to safe mode but it does not boot, I also tried going to ms-dos mode, but to no avail. I also tried using the start-up disk...same deal. HELP! ???

Well, it's unlikely to be compatible with 2K, and you'd actually be better off installing XP on it. I've found that 2K is more picky about hardware, and has less driver support than XP.
