Title: reinstalling Win98 problems w/ Display Driver
Post by: Lord_paranoid on August 25, 2004, 04:23:04 PM
as stated in another thread, I've recently formatted my hard disks. Now, there was a partition on it for a D drive, and the system no longer reads the space it used to have. In other words, I lost 3 gigs of space, and only have the space that was on the C drive to work with, but thats only part of the problem...

after the reinstalling, my colour settings were messed, put back to 16 colours. Before, I had true Colour 32 bit and 16 bit. Basically, my machine cannot display pictures properly. and now, because I tried to initiale the display I had before (NVIDIA) it says the driver wasnt configured for this architecture. the only way I can start my computer is in safe mode, but it wont let me make any changes to the display problem. I wish I could tell you more, but I've been at this formatting and reinstallation thingy for hours, and I see a pop up for every question asked by anyone... If anyone can gimme help, I'd appreciate it.

To solve your video display problem, you will most likely have to install the latest Nvidia drivers avaible at http://www.nvidia.com

As for your harddisk, if you use a program such as Fdisk, which comes with Windows bootdiskettes, you may be able to delete the partition (If /Fdisk can see it) and create new ones.

Bootdisks are avaible at http://www.bootdisk.de
