Title: windows vista service pack 1 faulty
Post by: bluecollar on September 07, 2010, 05:15:33 AM
how do i find and fix windows vista service pack 1, so that service pack 2 can be downloaded and work,
is that the right way to put it?
i hope to look at this problem for my friend on her laptop tomorrow, she took it to a professional, but got spooked, precious info and photos on laptop etc.
i tried to find SP1 on my laptop, no luck,
i thought i could copy it and then try to reinstall on hers?
is that a possible thing?
very sorry for my lack of info,
thanks for being here

No idea what you are talking about. Why don't you tell us what the problem is and please - start from the beginning.

sorry,
she tells me she tried to download the update - service pack 2 for vista
she says it failed because service pack 1 had something wrong,
and service pack 1 has no more support?
gosh, i think i'll try to find out more tomorrow,
just reading this to myself . . .  . . . . .
thanks again

Vista SP1 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=b0c7136d-5ebb-413b-89c9-cb3d06d12674&displaylang=en)

Have her DLoad and install it again...
SP2 will not install until this is fixed...

Hi, just spoke to my friend yesterday, the update looked good when i left for it to complete after it's restart, but it came up with a fail notice.
I will try to have another look and attempt to download it again,
maybe next month though,
we work opposite shifts now,
thanks for your help & advice 'guys'
