Hello
You may have noticed that your question has been here for a few days, with a low amount of views, and no replies (except for mine)
ComputerHope really isn't big on Macintosh or Apple. We are PC users (most of us) although some of us forum members do use Macintosh's.
If it goes for a few more days, go ahead and post in the Others section where you are sure to get some better help.
Or, if a moderator would like to, it would be nice if this post could be moved.
BTW: Try running a disk check on your iPod.

I am thinking of buying my daughter an IPOD for her xmas, I will be watching this post. Wish "I" know more myself!

Could a moderator move this to the "Others" section (or whatever) so the original poster can get some responces?
