I just purchased a new Samsung BX2431. I have changed the resolution to 192x1080. Picture quality is good but I have an aprox. 1" band around the edge of everything i do, reducing the screen size to about 22". The mouse cursor will not enter the black area it is as if the screen ends there. Any ideas?
I run Windows XP.
ATI Radeon HD 5500 vid card
and I have installed the latest drivers from samsung.

The reason why is because the black area is inactive and not part of the signal to your monitor, so you are better off making the image fill the screen.
-
Google shows the 1st 40 hits with people with the same issues with that model...
-
But the only way I can get the image to fill the screen is to reduce the resolution and evrything I have read says that is bad for your monitor.
-
Everything i read said that that model# monitor had issues the same as yours...
-
Not to be a pain but have you found any fixes?
