Title: Windows 10 One Drive help

One Drive is a program installed on Windows 10.  I get that.  What I don't get, is why does EVERYTHING go there?  I put my photos in Photo Gallery, and there it is on One Drive.  I put something on My Documents, there it is on One Drive.  Then One Drive sends all this to the Cloud.  Now I get an email from the Cloud that I have exceeded my limit and I can either buy more Cloud space, or delete some things and if I don't, my files, everything, etc., will be frozen.  Now, does that mean even on my computer or just One Drive?  If I delete all my photos off the Cloud, will they still be on my computer?  I have an external hard drive I can back them up to, which I plan to do, but I'd like for nothing I do to go to the Cloud.  How do I stop One Drive from sending it to the Cloud?  I have more than enough space on my computer, I don't need the Cloud.  I'd like to state, I am not real computer savvy, which is why I am asking probably a stupid question, but would like someone to tell me how to fix this Cloud thing.  My computer is a Dell Inspirion, Intel Core i5-4460, CPU @3.20 Ghz, Ram 8.00 GB, System Type 64-bit.

I think I figured it out.  What One Drive tells me isn't exactly what mine says, but I think I can disable it.  Thanks anyhow!

OneDrive is great if you want to access files from different devices (laptop, PC, tablet, etc., from different locations) but, if you normally access your files from one computer, then I understand your not being interested in using it.  This reference should help: Files save to OneDrive by default in Windows 10 (https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Files-save-to-OneDrive-by-default-in-Windows-10-33da0077-770c-4bda-b61e-8c8e8ca70ac7)
