Title: database Daemon alert

i was just sending an email on my 4-year-old Mac.  Got alert on screen:  Database Daemon may cause fatal error.  I have NO experience with viruses.  What can I do now?
Basic, simple language, please, because my computer knowledge is fairly basic. Thanks.
