Title: need help computer crashes

hi all im new to this can any1 help
i got a new computer just before christmas and im having problems
my computer keeps crashing and a blank screen comes up in varias colours black blue red yellow ect  the only way i can sort this is unplugging my pc then plugging it back in and then its fine for awhile then happens again.
it mainly happens when i watch films or play games and sometimes when im on the internet
i just dont know what to do can any1 help

more about my pc its a
acer aspire ax1300
windows vista
amd athlon x2
3gb ddr2
320gb 8200 integrated nvidia geforce graficts

it can be fine for days then crashes several times a day
im not very good with computers and im just looking for some help

it stated brand new and when i got it  it looked new

Well, find out if it's still under warranty. If it is, you can return it.

It very well might be something simple, like a video driver issue or something similar. But if this is a brand new computer that is still under warranty the best thing to do would be to return it. If you are having issues with a new computer then that may just be the tip of the iceberg. Who knows what kind of problems will arise later on.
