Title: white screen on apple

A friend called me and asked what it mean when just a white screen come up on my apple lap top and nothing else. Is it like a blur screen of death. He needs a new dard drive?

is there a flashing icon in the middle of the white screen? If so then yes its the hard drive. :)

Try resetting the SMC and PRAM. Here are the steps:
