Morning all my problem is i had a genuine copy of windows7 on my computer but had a problem with two usb ports on front.
i took it back to the shop and they fixed it,but the motherboard was faulty so they changed it.now when i turn on my computer it tells me my copy of windows 7 is not genuine it tells me to activate it with my key but when i put it in it say's
you can't use this key on this computer. any suggstions.

Some info: Description of the Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications application (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905474). I believe the basic issue here is that the change of motherboard is making Windows think it has been installed on a different computer, which would be a violation of the software license agreement for an OEM version of Windows. So, you'll need to resolve this with Microsoft. I believe this can be done by telephone but I don't know the number. I believe it may appear somewhere if you run through the Windows Genuine Advantage Notification (KB905474) provided on the link I posted.
If you can wait awhile longer, patio may see this and post. I believe he knows the phone number to contact at Microsoft.

Hi Soybean/Patio.thanks once again for your help. i contacted Microsoft and they reactivated my windows7.
so all back on line again case solved. i know who to ask for next time. you two see you.
