Title: Monitor question
Post by: barnesvillev on July 08, 2005, 06:28:47 PM
My monitor has suddenly "faded" out! The picture, etc. is there but is very faded & washed out looking. Hard to read & pics not all there. Exposure is bad?!I checked the brightness, etc. settings & nothing there has changed. What's wrong? thanks, Valarie

It is located in the same area where you can adjust monitor weight, height and colours. On your On screen Display

Most likely and old magnet with a cross or a line through it.

Found it, tried it twice but no change. Any other suggestions? It is a Compaq MV720, older model.

The refresh rate is set at the default level. There is an over ride button but I have no idea what value to put in for the monitor I have. It is a Compaq MV720. OS is ME2000. Pentiumlll processor, 30GB hard drive.

thanks,
Val

Reset the monitor to defaults. Do this from the OSD.

If that does not have a positive effect, test the monitor on another system. If the monitor gives weakened visual there as well, we have eliminated the chance that your hardware is at fault.
