I am going to reformat my HD using my startup disk to give me the " A" prompt, My CD-ROM is my FIRST boot disk.Windows xp will be loaded
Do i need to type anything else other than format C:/ at the prompt.
Would like to thank everyone for there help.

Just boot with the xp disk in and you will get the option to format. There is no reason to use a floppy.

It is MUCH better to do ALL of the partitioning and formatting from the XP CD, without using a bootdisk.
