Hi,
I have a Windows Vista 64 bit and it just shut down by itself and gave me a blue screen that says "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
Bugcode_Usb_Driver
What can I do? i'd be grateful for any advice.
Thanks

1. More information might be helpful:
a. The stop code with its four parameters; e.g. Technical Information: STOP: 0X000000FE (0X00000008,0X00000006,0X00000001,0X87BD4930).
b. What service pack level are you using?
c. When does the error occur, during system startup?
d. If you disconnect all of the high-speed USB devices, does error still occur?
e. Does it occur if you boot to "Safe Mode"? (Does Vista even have a safe mode?)
2. I don't know anything regarding this error other than what "google" tells me. Here's one of the links: Blue Screen after Windows Vista SP2 installed on my TouchSmart IQ770 (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/TouchSmart-PC/Blue-Screen-after-Windows-Vista-SP2-installed-on-my-TouchSmart/m-p/189612)

Hey,
a. I tried to copy the stop code and got STOP:0X000000FE (0X0000008, 0X0000006, 0X0000001, 0XFFFF...(missing)
b. I'm using Service Pack 2
c. The error occurs randomly when I've been using the computer for a while
d. The only USB's I have are my external hard drive and a mouse and the error still occurs without those plugged in.
e. don't know
The link you gave suggests using a hotfix, though I'm not sure if I should use it since Microsoft says its not well tested.
Any other options?
