Title: downloads not opening

i download and when i try to open it says application that created file cannot be found

Are you directing the download to a location you want? If not, next time RIGHT-click on the item you are downloading and point it to a location where you want it saved.

You need to have the correct application installed in order to open and view files of that type.

i need to download yahoo messenger but i cannot because it wont let me open the application because it is not found

You need to download the Mac version. you are probably trying to download the windows version.
