Can $330 Buy PC Desktop with great specs?
It is for eternal at home use
This is to be a Desktop, not a laptop.
It must be new, No use parts.
Exclude shipping and tax, but stay under $330.
Either Intel or AMD, Prefer 2 core 64 bit.
LCD screen.
Windows 7, any version. NOT TRIAL VERSION.
DVD burner required. Does not have to be blue ray.
Basic Ethernet required.
Video, Hard drive and Ram:
Whatever works great and within budget.
Any ideas welcome.

I do recommend the Athlon II CPUs - Very cheap and reasonable power (Only problem is no Level 3 Cache)
Personally, I have the Athlon II x4 620
Why not build it yourself?

This is the best I could come up with for the price and you would have to build and use Ubuntu for an OS. Oh I didn't add a DVD that would be an extra $30.00

if your going to use the 64 bit windows 7 to its fullest, I recommend getting at least 4-5 gigs of ram. Otherwise, you wont see much of a difference.
-
Also in general terms most PSU's that come included with a case are garbage...
Just a heads up.

5 GB of RAM? Really?

??? What do you mean, Salmon?

Then the answer to his question is no. You can't get a great spec computer for $330.00. I don't consider the one I spec good let alone great spec. He also said that he wanted a LCD for that price and Windows 7. He could get this at Micro Cemter for $249.99. then he wold have enough money for a cheap LCD. Still now Windows 7.

Knowing that there are various meanings that a hyphen can have, I read that as suggesting that to use 64 bit Windows 7 to its fullest, either one needs "four to five" or "four or five" gigabytes. I thought 5 GB was an unusual amount.

I agree it's an unusual amount. But, I guess a system could have 5GB. For example, if the computer had 4 memory slots, it could have 2 x 2GB plus 2 x 512MB, for a total of 5GB.

Hey, that looks good. But not great, as you said.

But according to that, I can't use Win 7 x64 to it's full potential, since I 8GB.

No way did you consume Great Britain.

a system with 12gb of ram. You could get one of those from dell.
