I want the tabs function on firefox to mirror Google chromes. When closing multiple tabs on Chrome, they re-size and re-orient themselves (so it's easy to hit the "x" to close them). How can I do this with Firefox? Is there an extension that does this?

Personally, the way the tabs reorient and resize themselves in Firefox already pisses me off.

Of course, in contrast, the way Chrome does it is even more infuriating. First they decide "golly, let's resize all the tabs every single time they close one" (which can make sense in the case where you aren't trying to close multiple tabs quickly), and hey, let's put the tabs in the FREAKING TITLE BAR. I find it somewhat interesting how MS get's "yelled at" for "bad practice" when they simply italicize and bold the titlebar text of Microsoft word (95), and yet when Chrome decides to place an entire UI element in the title bar they are praised for their "ingenuity".
Anyway, re the original question- Firefox already resizes and reorients tabs...

The re-sizing is not unique to Chrome. Firefox and Opera also do this.
What do you mean by "re-orient"?

They change size according to how many you use...they can also be right clikked and moved/change order...

Well, yes, they do to a point. I have both Firefox and Chrome installed my laptop running Vista. Tab width changes on both when the number of tabs open reaches the point where additional tabs can not be fitted into the row of tabs without decreasing the width of all tabs. And, when tabs are closed, one at a time, the tab width is increased until the number of tabs remaining open is small enough that all open tabs can be displayed at standard width.
For example, I have Firefox open with 4 tabs open. If I close one tab, the other three remain the same width. But, if I open a 5th one, then all tabs become slightly more narrow. So, at the native resolution on my laptop screen, 4 tabs is the breaking point where tab width either narrows if more tabs are opened or it remains constant if the number of open tabs drops below 4. I see the same behavior with Chrome.
I believe Opera behaves the same way. So, I don't see any difference between browsers regarding resizing of tabs.

I was not aware of this...thanks! I use Chrome when I'm at work but when I'm at home I still prefer Firefox. Some of the functionality of Chrome is great but there are some things missing still. I am hoping that the next version of FF will perhaps borrow ;D some of the better things implemented in Chrome.
