If I remove IE, I can no longer download updates. That does not seem like a very pleasant idea.

Before you say automatical updates; you can not manually update Windows with Mozilla Firefox, can you?
Even though Firefox is set as my default browser, Windows update still uses Internet Explorer.

Raptor, that's interesting, I've never heard of anyone having trouble updating with Firefox, do you think it's a Microsoft plot? :o

As you can see, I would require ActiveX. I believe this is available for Firefox, but I am not quite certain if I want to browse the Internet using ActiveX.
Do you not use Mozilla Firefox, Fed?

Raptor, I use IE and have no issues whatsoever with it.
When the Firefox hype subsides everyone will come back to IE and I will say, "I told you so". :P

Have a look at these two web sites any may be even try firefox. Because I can't see why any one would not like it once they have used it.

I have been using Firefox before the so called hype
1. I block all Javascript and choose the Javascript I do wish to play
2. I never have tracking cookies
3. I only accept tracking cookies I wish
4. I can open multiple pages in one browser
5. I can see the weather by simply opening my browser for today, tomorrow and two days ahead of now
6. I have built in RSS live feed. Currenlty, I monitor 3 news pages.
7. I can double click on a word, right click and look it up in the dictionary
8. I never have to type a search page adress as the search bar for all the search machines I use is next to the adress bar
9. I block pornography and other material I do not wish to see with little effort
10. When I download a .PDF file, I can view it in HTML, another Tab or simply as a PDF
11. I can block Flash or play it with only one click. I can block any ad I see with simply one click. I can hide any image I do not want to see with simply one click
I will never switch to Internet Explorer. Even if Firefox were a paid service, I would happily pay for it.
None of the items described above can be accomplished by IE. If they can, then there are terribly tedious procedures involved and you will most likely become frustrated.
I do not even use Firefox to its full potentional. I am certain of that.

I only use my browser (IE) to read the words on the screen & look at the pictures and I can only read one screen at a time.
If you like all the other girlie stuff I'm happy for you. :-*
