Title: Windows endless updates
Post by: dhinds on June 23, 2010, 05:51:55 PM
I usually update windows when I receive them via my auto update. The last update had an extensive list of rather large updates which included
.NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1  7.5 mb
.NET Framework 4 Client Profile 45.8 mb
Windows Application Compatibility Update 3.8 mb.
and a few other thing dealing with Media Player.
After some research, I am wondering if I need these updates. They sound very invasive and my computer is working great so I am hesitant to install these scary sounding updates. Do I need these things?
Thanks in advance.

My XP has been doing a lot of .NET Framework updates, too.  Another one popped up just now!!  If you have System Restore enabled, let it do the updates; you can always roll them back.

Since these are off their normal 2nd Tuesday of the month schedule, they must be important.

This one did not require Restart.
