Title: HP Computer

My HP computer quit working. The green light on the back comes on but the power button refuses to turn on. My monitor is working properly and the receptacle is working properly also. The power button on the front of the computer simply refuses to come on when I push it. Any ideas why this is?

Sounds like it may be the power supply.

It could be the power supply or motherboard.

If you can find another power supply of equal or greater wattage to temporarily swap in (checking the connections carefully), and it still doesn't work then the most likely other culprit is the board..
