Whats a really good and fast dvd burning and authoring program to buy?
-
I can (and will if that is your only desire) suggest a product to buy. However there are also some that are really quite good that are free (or have free versions). I shall give you a link to a couple of those and if you still want a paid software please advise and i shall also suggest something in that area from personal experience.

Is free good for you?

-
free is fine as long as it works haha.. and im only using one paid software program (ulead) and ive used free dvd burning/authoring software before just cant remember what it was.

here are some free burning software (http://www.dkszone.net/6-best-free-dvd-cd-burning-software). They're good for burning only. Can't author videos.
Try DVD Flick (http://www.dvdflick.net/). It's a free (open source) DVD video burning software. I have used it before with good results.
Also, what operating system are you using? (win xp, win vista, win 7 or something else not mentioned?)

Still running XP

Everything i have so far recommended i am currently using. Now to complete my offer of assistance i shall mention a commercial(not free) software that i use often.I just finished a successful burn with it prior to writing this. I shall link you to the site as it may be possible to try it 1st before purchase. I am using version 4 and i believe there have been many upgrades to higher versions since then. A problem i had with mine was that sometimes i needed to burn a program that was larger than could be put on one 4.7 gb dvd disc and therefore needed to "split". I had excellent support from the tech people of the software (the company is based in Germany ). Eventually i was able to resolve that problem with my older version. I believe the newer version facilitate that need more efficiently now. But that was the only problem i had with it.It is a suite of software covering a "photo manager/music manager and DVD/Cd movie manager. I have only used the DVD component. Mine is called "Movies on CD & DVD 4 (4 being the version) by MAGIX. This is the link to their homepage where their products are described. Unless you have another specific question for me this will end my support to your issue.good luck, truenorth
