Title: Dell inspiron 8000

My pc won't power on. It starts and then shut off. Anyone have  a suggestion to what might cause this?

I had the same laptop, tried everything, sold it for parts.  It's probably the motherboard, not worth replacing.

Please listing to your BIOS beep after that check your HDD jumper setting  also the tape of drive.
