I want to transfer data on microsoft word on to my netbook which only has microsoft word pad. Is that possible and if so, how?

Depending on what version of Word Wordpad should be able to open them....you may lose some formatting however.
Another option is to install Open Office which is Free on the machine that does not have Office.

Yes. Just be sure that when your saving the document in word, you select Rich Text Format *.rtf*. That way both word and word pad will be able to open and edit the file.

This is really your best option. It's one thing to be able to transfer a few files, but this will give you much more useful features in the future.

Wordpad on windows 7 can open Word 2007 files.
Wordpad on XP can open .DOC Binary format files, but I <think> they have to be saved as Word 97 format.
