The best AV program I believe to be NOD32, however this is a paid product.
Free is a different story, Avast! seems to have the smallest memory footprint and the fastest loading times.

Hay Allan, it is important for others to know. The lists posted all over the internet are all too often paid advertisements posing as independent studies.

i have had norton , mcafee, avg none of which were great , i had avira for a while and then went to mse which i thought was very good but i had to take it out , can't say why

now i have avast ( for the 2nd time ) and i'm very happy to stick with it

hope you start another poll soon
