Title: Windows wont boot completely at home
Post by: malinda on November 19, 2010, 09:10:21 PM
Help! Windows won't boot completely at home, but works OK in computer repair shop.  This is really crazy, took it to computer repair and they ran complete diagnostics on it and it checked out fine, but at home it starts booting windows then screen goes blank and just sits there.  Could it be my power cord?

No, not likely.
Maybe something came loose when you took it home. Hard to say.

But first, some questions.
In what part of the world do you live?
Is this a Laptop?
Which operations system do you have?
Did the repair shop use a different monitor?
Have you called the repair ship again?

well guess what?  The mystery is solved!  I went back to the repair shop with all my connections and my monitor, and discovered that my monitor was dying and dead.  Even though I had connected to another monitor (my TV), it was still not loading windows at home.  So now I am happy with a new monitor and rolling along! Moral of story is to take all your cables and monitors with you to have checked.

Thanks!
