Hey there
I'm new to this forum, hopefully i can get some help here then I would stay...hehe.
Ok the problem: Ok yesterday was my "Updating Day" and thats when i update basically everything i got.
All windows updates were installed but so was the new MSN 2011.
I think it started after downloading Windows Live Essentials (MSN) 2011, I
started getting the Blue Screen Of Death's. Every single time i try to uninstall it through
Control Panel it gives me BSOD. I then got frustrated and just deleted the Windows Live folder.
Now it BSOD when i try to install it..lol. So yer.
Info about comp:
- Running Windows 7 Ultimate
- Processor: Intel Core 2 Dio CPU
- 4 Gigs of RAM
- 64 bit OS
- and..its never had this problem before.
I read a previous thread and found out about BlueScreenView.zip
So i downloaded that and wanted to copy paste whats written for you guys here.
Please help me in anyway you can with all these, and i dont know if i get a mail notification
whether anyone has replied or not but please email me back on email address removed.

2) Multiple and varied blue screen errors may be caused by severe hardware problems - often the motherboard itself. It could also be ram, a virus, or something more obscure. My first suggestion would be to run memtest (http://www.memtest.org/) to rule out bad ram. I'd then suggest full system scans with both your AV and MalwareBytes. Let's see where we are after that.

Yes you will the first step as Allan suggested and explained :

You need to download Malwarebytes(Install/Update/Full Scan)
Any added Hardware or software,drivers will also be look into. They can cause multiple BSOD.

It's not.
get this one:

That's a zip file, so once you have it downloaded you'll have to double click it to extract the ISO. Once you have it unzipped, right click on it and choose burn disk image. Place a blank CD in the drive and burn it. Then you will need to restart the computer and boot to the CD.

I like to run memtest on just one stick at a time. You may or may not want to remove all but one stick of ram from your motherboard and test each one individually. This is the best way to do it.

Hi thanks for the replies everyone.
So far I've run:
- Registry Cleaner
- Wise Registry Cleaner
- Wise Disk Cleaner
Still running:
- Full system virus scan with Avast! Anti-Virus
- Full system malware scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
All results are cleaned/fixed/deleted.
After both system scans are done, i'll check each RAM stick using MemTest.
Oh and important info:
- I never used to get the BSOD.
- I got it just about 1 min ago when i tried to run the Windows Essential 2011 installer (http://windowslive.ninemsn.com.au/messenger.aspx).
- It only BSOD's whenever i try run that installer. I've deleted it and re-downloaded thinking it was just the download but no.
- I use MSN frequently to chat with friends and family and after downloading the new 2011, and trying to install it, is when it BSOD's.

Do you happen to have an old MSN installed that is not causing the BSOD trouble? I would suggest to stick with it until other issues are resolved. Continue the system scan and RAM testing.

Well i dont have any old versions installed but when i try to install it, it BSOD's.
So it seems to be all Windows Live Messenger's.

Do not use ccleaner either NO registry cleaners - they CAUSE problems, they do not cure them.

Update:
I've ran MemTest on each of my RAM sticks separately and all together and everything is fine.
I've also ran Full System Scans with both Avast! Anti-Virus and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.
Both found some infections and were cleaned.
What's next?

If the memory indeed did check out OK...and there are no signs of infections my next suspect would be a flakey/failing PSU...
Instead of spending your hard earned cabbage...borrow a known good one of the same or greater wattage and swap it in there for a day or so.
If the BSOD's disappear you have found the culprit.

I then un-installed all registry cleaner programs coz of what Allan said.
(That they cause problems..not fix them.)

The only thing I can think of now is a software installed on your machine is causing the BSOD when trying to install WLM. I have a previous software installer not able to run or work after double clicking the installer icon. What I did was disabled my Antivirus(Avira) and installed it Offline. In your case, it might be ideally related. A Firewall, Antivirus or anything might be the cause. If you can specify much information on these softwares, you might be able to work around the problem if indeed you believe its only the WLM installation thats causing your BSOD. Another thing is to redownload WLM. It might also be a software glitch experience by other though not sure.
