Title: Windows 7 Home Ultimate sleep mode problem
Post by: raphael75 on January 17, 2011, 11:09:00 AM
My wife's computer has Win 7 Home Ultimate. When we try to put it into Sleep mode, it goes to sleep for about .25 seconds and immediately comes out. It had been working fine as of a week ago. I tried changing the setting to disable it from waking due to system events but it still immediately comes out of sleep mode. Any ideas? Thanks!

I'm not a fan of sleep or hibernate. Rather than either, just set your hd and display to power down after a defined period of inactivity (in Control Panel - Power Options). You and your computer will be much happier.

The problem is that her computer has a VERY loud fan, and we'd prefer to not have the noise all the time. I just can't figure out what would cause it to go to sleep and then instantly come out of sleep mode. It had been working perfectly.

Turn it off when silence is needed...
