Title: Laptop HP Pavilion dv6809 not turning on
Post by: kiddo1972 on January 28, 2011, 08:18:02 AM
Hi all. I got a laptop that I left in the cold car overnight. After bringing it in, I turned it on before it warmed up. It booted up fine but then it froze and I made a mistake and took the battery out and unplugged it. Now it does a continuous power cycle (on for 3 secs, off for 5 secs). I hear the fan and the HDD trying to come on, but nothing happens. It just keeps turning on and off.  If I hit the Esc key or Ctrl>Alt>Del, it will stay on but no HDD activity light and no video but the fan will continue to run. Oh yeah, before it froze, the window that I had open became full of squiggly lines. Did I short out the video card or what?

Hard to say...
Try it with AC power only and the battery removed.
