Greetings, k_hussain.
There are many different models in the Compaq Presario C500 series - if you could post the exact model number, I'm sure the proper VGA driver can be found.
If you need help, here's the HP guide to finding your product number: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/findModel?lc=en&cc=us&destPage=findModel&= (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/findModel?lc=en&cc=us&destPage=findModel&=).

compaq presario c501TU notebook pc

windoesxp sp2
The HP support site for graphics driver available for your compaq presario c501TU is for Windows Vista(32,64). Is XP the original OS for your laptop or made a downgrade? Do you have any previous CD drivers or just by HP support link?

I'm finding XP drivers for the Presario C501TU on this page: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3347837#N307.
However, it's not showing a VGA driver.
I'm new to this forum, and if there's a way to attach files to posts, I'm missing it. I'd ask you run a system info tool to discover the video hardware for your machine and attach the information, but I don't see a way.
Question: why do you think you need a video driver? What symptoms are you experiencing?
