Title: External hard-drive question
Post by: monkeydave on March 07, 2011, 01:28:45 PM
I have this external hard-drive (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822204089).

I have this motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128384).

The hard-drive supports E-SATA, the mother board just has SATA 3Gb/s ports. I currently use USB, but on a 1 TB HD, the transfer times for large amounts of files is brutal.

Will this cable  (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812816070&cm_re=sata_to_esata-_-12-816-070-_-Product) fix my problem?

Yes, it's the adapter you need.  Don't know if it will "fix" your "problem", some motherboards don't support eSATA well.  It's certainly worth a try.
