I did a clean install of windows 7 and now I need to get ethernet and multimedia audio controller drivers but I don`t know where to get them.I have an ASUS P4S800D-X MOTHERBOARD. I can`t get on the internet without the drivers. Can anyone help me out?
-
What about downloading those drivers to the computer you're posting from?

I can do that but I need to know where and what to download.
-
Is it custom build, or a brand computer?
If a brand computer, what brand and model?
-
That's an old motherboard. Asus only has drivers for windows 98, ME, 2K, and XP.
-
Nice catch JJ...

Indeed :)

Yes it is customed built. It`s about 5 years old but I was just running windows 7 on there and was having a problem with the os so I installed win 7 again and now I don`t have my ethernet and multimedia audio controller adapters. I don`t have the disc so i`m in a bind right now without being able to go online without those drivers. I know that my motherboard is P4S800D-X by asus and os is windows 7. I also know that for my sound I was using realtek AC97 drivers and I remember SiS 900 pci Fast Ethernet. I just need to know exactly where and what ethernet controller drivers to download. If someone can help me I will be very grateful....Thanks!!!

Yes it is...lol It was a gaming pc about 5 years ago and when I got it it had win xp pro on it. I`ve had it for 3 years now. I use it to produce music.I had windows 7 on there before I did the clean install but I wanted the ultimate version and should`ve did an upgrade...lol

We can give it a shot, but don't hold your breath....
We need more info.
Download System Information for Windows: http://www.gtopala.com/siw-download.html to your Desktop.
Get SIW Without Installer (English-Only).
Double click on siw.exe to run the program.
Go File>Create Report File>HTML
Save the file to known location.
Zip the file, and attach it to your next reply.

I can`t go online without the drivers Broni. I`ve been to the ASUS website but I just don`t know exactly what to search for. It seems that what my computer calls ethernet controller ASUS calss it something else and that`s why this is so difficult.
-
Download said program on working computer, move it to bad computer through USB flash drive and run it there.
Put created log back on a flash drive and post it from working computer.
-
Broni I got the info you requested now will you tell me how to attach it to the post?
-
I think this is what you`re looking for...Sorry for the delay Broni.

Click on "Reply" button, then on "Additional options..."
-
Go here: http://www.sis.com/download/
Select Windows XP from the drop down list (there are no Win 7 drivers).
Download network and audio drivers.
Install them by right clicking and then "Run as administrator".
-
Broni that didn`t work. I had 2 ethernet controllers with the yellow exclamation points and now there`s only one. The install was successful but I have one more empty ethernet controller. And thanks for what you`ve done so far man.
-
Are you saying, that now you have one ethernet controller with yellow exclamation mark?
-
Yes
-
That was a wrong driver.
Go here: http://support.asus.com/download/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
Select: Motherboard
Select: Socket 478
Select: P4S800D-X
Click Search.
Select XP.
Download LAN and audio drivers.

Broni when I tried to install the driver it said it won`t install because it can`t find SETUPX.DLL. That was the global download but the global (DLM) won`t let me save it to my flash drive so I can install it to my pc and try to install the drivers.I can`t believe I have to go through all of this just to install the drivers.I installed my audio drivers from realtek and they work fine.

I'm little bit confused.

Then, it looks like you're trying to install it somehow:
when I tried to install the driver it said it won`t install because it can`t find SETUPX.DLL
