Title: you tube download issue

Windows XP, Firefox, Adobe Flash, all latest versions. For some reason today, I cannot view anything directly on you tube. Viewing area is black-no picture or sound. Bookmarked you tube videos do not work. Click you tube in google news article, video works great. Real player is in my system. Is there any way to make certain that flash player is the default for streaming????
