I am running Windows 7 64bit on a home made machine. It has been running quite well for about 6 months. Recently, while trying to trouble shoot a problem that I have, I tried to create a "SYSTEM RSTORE POINT". After atttempting to do this for a few seconds it came back wiht the folowing message:
"The restore point could not be created for the following reason; An error was detected in the Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS). The problem occured while trying to contact VSS writers. Verify that the Event System service and the VSS service are running and check for Associated errors in the event logs
0x80042318
OK on VSS and ESS"
Now I do not have the slightest idea what they (IT) is talking about. How do I "Verify that the Event System service and the VSS service are running and check for Associated errors in the event logs"
What does it mean "OK on VSS and ESS??
