Title: hidden characters
Post by: licoriceallsorts on July 01, 2011, 05:17:18 PM
Hi, Im having trouble with some mp3 files that have hidden characters (unicode according to 1 error message). If I copy these files from my win7 home p 32 bit pc to an old xpsp3 pc and use the same file manager the hidden characters are immediately visible. I delete the characters (mainly squares) and copy back to win7 all is good. I believe I have the same settings for language and keyboard on both pcs, that is english australian language and us keyboard. Can anybody tell me how I can view these hidden characters in win 7 ??

I cant believe i will have to go backwards to xp to do this?   Thanks in advance

The files are corrupted...doesn't matter what OS you view them in.

Why are the characters visible with xp and not win7, and when the characters are removed the mp3 files are perfect? Sounds a bit sus
