Title: Wierd Cd/DVD Rom Question
Post by: Jason E. Jones on August 29, 2005, 12:25:43 AM
I have a situation with a customer that has me stumped.  I did a full format and reinstall on her computer everything was working fine after I downloaded all of her drivers and installed them.  I then go to her house today to deliver the computer and she asks me to install a old People PC internet disk for her.  I start to install the disk then it tells me that it cannot complete the installation.  This is where the fun begins.  The Cdrom just freezes up.  I press the eject button it blinks a couple of times but does nothing.  I shut the computer down all the way unpluged the power cord then started back up with the same thing happening.  The computer now is telling me that it can't find the boot record for the cdrom and floppy.  What is going on????

Set the first boot device to HDD 0 or  remove any diskettes and CD-ROMs present whilst booting.
