Title: My Java does not work

System Information: Motherboard: MSI DKA 790GX AM2+, CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition (Unlocked to 4 cores), RAM: Team Group, Xtreem-Dark-1066C6 (DDR 2), HDD: Western Digital 640GB SATAII, Video Card: MSI Nvidia GTX 560 ti Hawk, PSU: Coresair TX 650W. Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1.

My Java has just stopped working and i don't know why, when i try to open/use something that uses Java like, a webpage with a java application or a game like Minecraft, these things don't work. I have tried to uninstall it but when i try there is an error message: "Error 1723. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact you support personnel or package vendor." This also happens when i try to run the Java installer from there Java website. No matter what i do i cant get it to work.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Yes i have.

1. Remove any traces of the failed Java installation by uninstalling Java.
2. Download and install the offline installation package.

These are the two options it gives, both of these result in the 1723 error.

I installed the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility 2.5.0.1 and removed two things, a java updater and the actual java.

I then went to the java website and downloaded the installer again and tried to install it but this came up: Windows Installer
                                                                                                                                                                         This action is only valid for products that are currently installed.

The only option i get is to press ok, and then it exits.

I dont know what i did but i somehow got java to install this time. My problem is fixed
