Title: Shutting down problem!PLEASE HELP!!!1
Post by: matt povah on September 05, 2005, 06:56:32 AM
Hi, i have a problem with my computor, it seems to shut down of its own accord. I think it may be a virus that is causing it to do this. When i try and do a virus scan my computor switches off during the process of scanning. I use AVG 7.0, spybot search and destroy and Ad-aware SE personal but my computor shuts down during all.  Also when i try and do numerous things on my computor it switches off. There are no warnings that the pc is going to turn off either, the power just goes off. Can you help?

What are your system temperatures, wattage use and specifications?

this may sound kind of simple but you may want to go into your screen saver/ power save settings.  Your computer may be set to turn off after a certain time by accident.

Check whether CPU fan is working or not.

You can also try booting in safe mode.
