When scrolling on internet explorer the screen does not move smoothly, but jumps as you scroll down. The same information keeps appearing over and over and it moves very slowly down.

josie01...... Is this something that has just started ?
What O/S are you using?
Check your mouse it may be the cause .

Are you trying to scroll before the website has fully loaded?
IE>Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Tick Use smooth scrolling.

I have tried checking/unchecking it.

Install videocard drivers.

Any examples ;)

Clicking the box that says smooth scrolling does nothing. We are using windows Xp. This is something totally new. Just had my computer in for service as it was pointed to wrong modem and couldn't get on the internet. When I got it back it was messed up in the scrolling. The whole screen appears every time you try to scroll using the arrow or the touch pad and it is like it is in slow motion. Guess I will just have to take it back to get fixed again. It is useable like this, but very annoying.

Once again, somehow mysteriously overlooked my post.

No, didn't overlook your post, but just tried the other first. I don't know what a videocard driver is or how to install. Sorry, I am very new to computer use and language. Thanks for the suggestion; but since I am too computer illiterate to do what you suggested.....

You first need to know what video card you have.
Download, install & run Everest Home Edition, it will tell you.
http://www.lavalys.hu/index.php
Then you go to the manufacturer's homepage, download & install the correct drivers for your video card & XP.
Take it slow, read the screens & check back here to let us know how it's going.
