I have an old IBM Thinkpad Laptop running Windows XP. Right now, the battery doesn't work and it is really slow, plus, I'm not sure if it can use Wi-Fi. I want it to be able to use Wi-Fi, I want to make it run Mac OS X Lion (Permanently, NO PARALLELS DESKTOP OR VIRTUAL BOX.), and make it faster (new hard drive? more memory?). What are all the steps to do this?

Welcome!

You want to put MAC OS X on and older Thinkpad.
There is no information here about how to do this.
This is a very brief note about MAC OS X

What have you found in Google? There are some You Tube videos.
You already saw them, -Right?
Install Mac OS/X on Lenovo ThinkPad T61 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hCTQwjYdko) - You Tube.

I've watched the YouTube videos. Most of them show you how to make Windows XP look like Mac OS X.

Why do you want/need MAC/OS on this PC ? ?

Install Mac OS/Mac OSX on non-apple hardware violates the Apple EULA.

He's not running it on a virtual Machine. In fact, that is explicitly what they want to avoid. Also, the allowances for OSX Lion with regards to virtualization is simply to allow users of the OS to run a virtualized copy of OSX within another, with one license.
A. Standard and Preinstalled Apple Software License.
Subject to the terms and conditions of this License,
unless you obtained the Apple Software from the Mac App Store or under a volume license, maintenance or
other written agreement from Apple, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to install, use and run
one (1) copy of the Apple Software on a single Apple-branded computer at any one time.
Last time I checked, a IBM Thinkpad is not "Apple-branded".

I don't like the Windows Operating System. It is too junky. Mac OS X has a nice layout, is easy to use, and comes with great applications!

Hey Everybody! I found a Mac OS X Install disk. Would this work if I put it in my IBM ThinkPad (Running Windows XP) laptop?
-
No, not if it is a very old Thin kpad.
If you want to install OSX on your Intel or AMD computer, your computer processor needs to support at least SSE2. Most current (2011) CPUs support SSE2 and SSE2, so you may want to skip the next paragraph. It is recommended that your computer supports SSE3 for application compatibility, speed and performance. Make sure to check which version of OSx86 you need for your processor. You can check for SSE2 support from Windows with a program called CPU-Z
(Link omitted on purpose. If it is a violation of EULA the forum will not allow it.)
